At the recent Annual General Meetings of the Victorian Primary Schools’ Sports Association VPSSA and the Victorian Secondary Schools’ Sports Association VSSSA, members voted to adopt common Operating Procedures effectively creating one organisation School Sport Victoria. As part of this process, recognition was given to the work done by both associations over a long and proud history spanning over 100 years. The new governance structure has been confirmed by the Secretary of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development to commence January 1, 2010.
During the first four months of 2010 significant work will need to be done in terms of consulting with all members to determine the school sport district and divisions. The current four VSSSA secondary zones will still operate in 2010 as per previous years, with a new regional based structure beginning in 2011.
